Charles Ilan Gordon is a published author and freshman at Amherst College who has already accomplished what most writers spend a decade working toward: two books in print and a third underway, all before his college career has truly begun.

A graduate of Pine Crest Academy — Florida's top-ranked school — Charles developed his voice as a storyteller through years of serious creative engagement. He served as President of the Mythology Club and officer in the Creative Writing Society, was a member of the Talented Writers Honor Program, and was inducted into the National English Honor Society.

His passion lies in LitRPG — the Literary Role-Playing Game genre — where traditional narrative structures collide with the interactive mechanics of video games. Skill trees replace chapter breaks. Inventories become character studies. The reader stops being an observer and becomes a participant. It's storytelling for a generation raised on games, and Charles believes it's one of literature's most exciting frontiers.

His second novel, Double-Edged Stats: The Allure of Power, builds on this philosophy with six protagonists, each gifted with a unique stat boost, navigating a world where power is never as clean as the numbers suggest. A Scholastic Art & Writing Award-winning author, Charles is equally at home in classical forms — earning distinctions in the National Mythology and National Latin Exams and conducting original research on Hesiod and Ovid.

At Amherst, he continues writing Book III while exploring the intersections of English, Classics, and digital narrative that have defined his work from the beginning.
